SOMEWHERE ON A RIVER

DESTINATION-ALASKA   Tidewaters at Mariner Beach - Homer AK
WEATHER

The tides of Kachemak Bay are some of the largest in the world. The average vertical difference between high and low tides is 15 feet. This creates high tide backwaters in various locations around the bay. Waters pour into the Beluga Slough seen on the drive to the Homer Spit and as you start out on the Spit, you'll drive along these high waters contained in the lowlands just before reaching Mariners Beach (seen here).
