Maroon Bells is one of the most photographed locations in Colorado. And for good reason. It is located near Aspen, it holds some of the best hiking/backpacking in the west, it has four fourteeners in the vicinity, and the scenary is spectacular.

On this summer day, I got there just before the sun rose and enjoyed a wide range of lighting. Even with the valley bottom in shadow, the reflection of the mountains light up the lake. I have never had a bad day in this valley.
