Before my first visit to Homer, a friend of mine told me that as you start down the highway into Homer there is a turnout/overlook of the bay. He said I had to pullout there because the view is "jaw-dropping beautiful". Flying into Anchorage I picked up a rental car and headed to Homer. As I started down the highway past Diamond Ridge, the pull out was easy to find. Stopping the car and stepping out and up to the rail, my jaw did exactly as my friend had told me, it dropped open as I stared at the bay and mountains across the bay. |
