Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River is a small remnent of Glen Canyon. The incredible value of a flowing river is evident here in the red sandstone walls that hold it captive. The clear water that issues from the bottom of the dam just a few miles up the canyon still remain as a travel corridor for many creatures including man. As I stood on the rim, several boats were seen 2000 feet below enjoying their surroundings. Those with motors traveling up to the dam with kayaks and smaller boats carried downstream on the current. Man I wish I was down on the water.
